About District
Noney district was newly created in 2016 by bifurcating the erstwhile Tamenglong District vide Gazette Notification No. 408 dated 08.12.2016 by the Government of Manipur. Prior to the delineation exercise, it constituted the Nungba subdivision of the Tamenglong district.
The district is divided into four administrative subdivisions-
- Noney (Longmai)
- Nungba
- Khoupum
- Haochong
The district headquarters is located in the Noney (Longmai) Sub-Division, located 63 km from the capital city of Imphal.
